Ptychopteridae (fold-winged craneflies)

Sometimes known as phantom craneflies, this family is usually dealt with alongside the true craneflies despite apparently being more closely related to moth flies (Psychodidae). They are included in the recently-published British Craneflies by Alan Stubbs (2021) and the equally useful Shropshire Craneflies by Peter Boardman (2016).
