Streptanus sordidus

This came to light in a small grassy area at the edge of wet woodland. I keyed it using the RES key and checked the genitalia against the diagrams in Biedermann & Niedringhaus.

This was found in exactly the same place as the last one but by suction. It was a little small (3.1mm) and being a little unsure about some of the characters separating it from other Streptanus species I checked the aedeagus. The subgenital plates are more square-cornered than shown in Biedermann & Niedringhaus but the aedeagus clears up any doubt.
