Thrips (Thysanoptera)

I keep having to remind myself that the singular of thrips is thrips and there is no such thing as a thrip...

My main sources of reference for thrips are the Naturalists' Handbook 25 by William D J Kirk and the excellent Thrips of the British Isles website. That said, identifying thrips is no mean feat and not to be taken lightly. I don't attempt it very often and more often than not when I do, I fail to reach a firm conclusion (or often any conclusion at all).

I have a very small number to add here in due course but will add any new ones as I find them in the meantime.
