Tansy Moth Dichrorampha sedatana

An earlier attempt to assign vernacular names to micro moths named this one Dingy Drill.

This Nationally Scarce moth is only known from a few sites in Norfolk.

While visiting Costessey I had a look for this species at its known colony and found lots of small moths flying around the Tansy. All those that were seen well were Dichrorapha and I retained three of these to confirm the ID. All three (two males and a female) proved to be sedatana as suspected.

It is recommended that you check for the two teeth near the apex of the aedeagus before setting the genitalia on a microscope slide because they are not visible from every angle and can disappear when the genitalia are set.
