Turtle Shieldbug Podops inuncta
I found this by suction. Although the identification is straightforward, I was familiar with the superficially similar Tortoise Shieldbug Eurygaster testudinaria and got these semantically confused not twigging there are two entirely different species called Tortoise Shieldbug and Turtle Shieldbug! It was only when I went to examine the specimen to check it was the commoner species of Eurygaster that I realised it clearly wasn't a Eurygaster at all!
In case anyone else is dosy enough to get similarly confused, perhaps the most important difference is the pair of projections at the front corners of the pronotum on this species. Eurygaster also has much more prominent chequered connexivum among other things.
