Streaked Plant Bug Miris striatus

My first example of this much-anticipated species was even more striking than I expected. Other examples online mostly show the pale streaks on the wings as yellower (less orange) and the pronotal spot is often also yellower (less orange) and larger. The fiery-and-black combo of this individual made for an absolutely superb insect!

This was one of two found the same morning at Hoe Rough and Beetley Meadows. This one was seen on Alder and the other was swept from a range of vegetation.
