Tomostethus nigritus

Tomostethus nigritus larva
Tomostethus nigritus larva on Ash, North Elmham Cathedral Meadows (Norfolk, UK), 6th June 2019

I'm not sure about the ID of this one. I had retained an Ash leaf containg a gall (turned out to be Dasineura fraxini) on 13th June and on 6th July noticed this larva in the pot. I'm pretty sure it hadn't been there on 13th June, so I'm assuming it was an egg then which I didn't see. Thanks to Andy I understand that of the several species that are known from Ash the only one that is specialist on Ash is Tomostethus nigritus. This may well be an early instar Tomostethus nigritus but this identification is currently tentative.
