Profenusa thomsoni

The following mines were found in birch (Downy Birch in at least the second case). If accepted they'll be the first Norfolk records since before 1900.

I'm not entirely sure about the ID of the next one. The larva appears to have a dark spot on the next segment after the legs and the legs look very dark, which are both characters of Scolioneura betuleti which has a similar mine in birch, however that species has fine frass which doesn't seem to be the case here. I suspect this is another thomsoni but will leave it unrecorded until I know better.
