Beautiful Silver-mark Promalactis procerella

Previously Bisigna procerella. An earlier attempt to assign vernacular names to micro moths called this Kent Tubic.

This attractive species was first recorded in the UK in 1976 and is now widespread in Kent and Sussex. The first for Suffolk was in 2014 but it has not yet reached Norfolk.

I was lucky not to miss this. It was eventually found on one of the first eggboxes removed from one trap, but I think it must have been hiding under a larger moth as I did not see it when I checked the eggbox carefully upon removing it. I discarded the eggbox, continued going through the trap, moved on to a second trap, went through that and finally returned to this one to shake out anything left on the discarded eggboxes. As I did so I had a quick look to make sure there wasn't anything on them that I'd missed and when I eventually reached this one, I was stunned to see this cracker, now in full view and impossible to overlook.
