Yellow-barred Peat Hoverfly Sericomyia silentis

Also known as Bog Hoverfly.

As Graham Moates and I arrived ready for me to show him round almost the first thing Graham saw as he got out of the car was this large hoverfly on a Hogweed flower next to where I parked. The flowerhead was moving around in the breeze and this was the only photo I managed before it flew off, but Graham got a much better shot.
