Parallelodiplosis galliperda

The larvae of this inquiline species can be found underneath Common Spangle Galls on oak leaves. The gall is caused by the Cynipid wasp Neuroterus quercusbaccarum.


Here the Neuroterus quercusbaccarum gall was gently pulled off the leaf and turned upside down - you can see the larva in one of two shallow depressions on the underside of the gall.
