Perapion hydrolapathi


This is one of several very similar species some of which (like this) show a very overlookable metallic green sheen to the elytra. The size (just over 3 mm) was helpful but the degree of puncturing on the underparts (hardly any on the metasternum and fine on the first 2 sternites) differentiates this one from violaceum (both found on Dock, as this was).

These were swept from Green Alkanet in my garden but probably came off dock as there is a Broad-leaved Dock plant right next to the Green Alkanet.
