Bruchidius varius

This little beetle (swept from Sycamore) made a bid for freedom while I was photographing it and before I'd managed to get a half-decent photo. I did eventually refind it in my study, dead on a dusty windowsill so not much good for improving my photos. The ID seemed to be quite straightforward.

This one came to light and was better behaved. I believe the serrate antennae make both males.

At first I thought this one (which came to light in my garden) might be something different with its quite differently coloured and shaped antennomeres, but it keys out as varius and I think the difference is simply down to it being female.
