Amara convexior
Once I'd satisfied myself that the elytral striae did get more incised towards the rear this was a straightforward ID (if they hadn't then it would key to aenea which was clearly wrong). The beetle was 7.0mm long and found in a pitfall trap. There are lots of records of the species in Norfolk but mostly from the Brecks, western heaths and north coast - it seems to be much unusual in the centre of the county.
