Philotarsus parviceps
Apparently a common species.
This one was beaten from Hawthorn. The wing markings on this species are less distinct than on the similar but scarcer Pilotarsus picicornis. I didn't find it easy to see the abdomen pattern which is supposed to differ between the two species. The side lobes of the subgenital plate are apparently narrower in the middle than on picicornis.

This was swept from Rhododendron the same day as the one above (at a slightly different location).

This was swept from pine.

This one came to light in my garden. I wasn't completely convinced it was parviceps from the wing pattern which seemed a little more distinct (though not as much as I expect pipicornis to be), and my doubts increased when I viewed the abdomen (albeit in its rather dried and shrivelled state) as this seemed to have distinctly pale longitudinal lines through the dark dorsal patch. However, the side lobes of the subgenital plate appear to confirm that it is another parviceps.
