Single-dot Long-palp Tipula fulvipennis

This very large cranefly in my garden moth trap was very distinctive and I immediately knew it was a species I had not identified before. Its identification proved to be very straightforward.

This one was in my moth trap the following night but given the same configuration of three legs and identical wing pattern I'm pretty sure it was the previous night's individual retrapped.

It wasn't long before I found my next.
