Deer Ked Lipoptena cervi
Apparently these are considered to be a major nuisance in some places but they don't seem to be too much of a problem round here, unless you're a deer perhaps.
This one appeared in my moth trap at home. I occasionally see deer from the house but never actually in my garden. It was identified using the 1984 RES key to Hippoboscidae and Nycteribiidae by A M Hutson, available online.
