Bishop's-mitre Parasite Fly Cistogaster globosa
This dumply little fly came to light and I couldn't resist trying to figure out what it was. It wasn't too hard as it turned out - ObsID offered the ID with 100% confidence, and checking Stephen Falk's Flickr pages seemed to support that ID. Nevertheless, I took it through Robert Belshaw's key just to make sure and it all keyed out smoothly. Visually I couldn't convince myself that the vertex was more than half the diameter of an eye, but when I measured it this proved to be the case.
