Large Knapweed Aphid Uroleucon jaceae

There were thousands of these aphids on Common Knapweed on this occasion. I only retained a few for identification - two alates and one other are shown below. The photo of the siphunculus doesn't show this clearly but through the microscope I could see that the reticulation was restricted to the apical part (roughly one sixth of the length).
