Rosy Leaf-curling Apple Aphid Dysaphis devecta
This gall reminded me of the galls of Dysaphis crataegi agg. on Hawthorn, but it was on apple (I'm not certain of the species of apple, but I've found a moth flying round it that's only supposed to be on Crab Apple). I unfurled it to see if I could find any aphids (or anything else) and according to my notes it contained aphids. I must admit though that I can't see any live aphids in any of my photos, only ex-aphids (what I take to exoskeletons of moulted aphids though I'm not sure if there might also be dead aphids among them).
