Yellow-billed Pintail Anas georgica

There are two surviving subspecies - nominate georgica from South Georgia (often known as South Georgia Pintail or South Georgia Teal) and the larger subspecies spinicauda from mainland South America and the Falklands (often known as Chilean Pintail or Brown Pintail). A third subspecies niceforoi (known as Niceforo's Pintail) was found in Colombia but became extinct in around 1952.

I have only encountered this species in captivity. I do not feel able to separate the two subspecies from one another so am not sure which taxon was involved, however for the first one below I was told by the collection owner that it was a South Georgia Pintail (nominate georgica).
