Rosy-billed Pochard Netta peposaca

Also called Rosybill.

Except for a bird that must have escaped from a collection, I've not seen this South American species in the wild.

This was found on one of my local patches by the late David Knight. I wasn't familiar with Rosy-billed Pochard at the time and neither of us were sure what it was, but when I noticed the slight bulge at the base of the bill it began to fall into place.

I found this at a different site in the same valley later in the winter and I assume it was the same bird.
