Falcated Duck Mareca falcata
This species was formerly placed in the genus Anas. It used to sometimes be known as Falcated Teal.
This species is common in Asia and a rare vagrant to western Europe where it is difficult to be sure if birds are wild migrants from Asia or escapees from captivity (it is popular in wildfowl collections). I have seen this species in the wild in 1995 but all of my photos are of birds in captivity.
