Bufflehead Bucephala albeola
Although I've seen a few Buffleheads in North America and a couple (of unknown origin) in the UK, the only ones I've photographed have been these captive birds. Records in the UK are tainted with question marks over their origin - the first I saw, in Nottinghamshire in 1994, was widely considered to be a wild vagrant from America while one I saw in Suffolk in 1997 was considered by most to be an escapee from a collection, but unless the bird is ringed or has its wings clipped, it's rarely possible to be sure one way or the other.
