unidentified African Scarabaeidae

It was hard enough finding information on popular well-studied groups of insects like butterflies in Malawi, so I don't fancy my chances of ever being able to put a confident name to this. Indeed I did once ask an esteemed Coleopterist about it and his response was that there are tens of thousands of species in this family and in Malawi it could easily be new to science!
