Quedius levicollis

I attempted to key this out when I first caught it but got in a right muddle. I think I must have attempted to check its genitalia as the specimen I'm re-examining in 2023 is lacking its abdomen (and in a lot of pieces, but the rest of them, or at least one of each, were retained). This time around I found it more straightforward to key. Some of the characters shown below include the curved labrum, punctured scutellum and four pores on each side of the head (including the anterior bristle-bearing pore). My only slight hesitation is that on the only online image of this species that I can find which is of sufficient quality to see the pores on the head, the pores on each side are not so closely clustered as they are on mine (so the pair of pores closest to the midline are closer to one another than they are on mine). However, as it seemed to key fairly straightforwardly and levicollis is one of the commonest species, I'm working on the assumption that this is just individual variation.
