Tanbark Borer Phymatodes testaceus

My only records of this species were all within 3 days of eachother. They came to light in my garden three nights running, with four different individuals on the last night. The paler ones bore a strong, if superficial, resemblence to Cantharidae.

In this set of four photos the second one appears the largest but that's just because the position of its antennae and legs meant I could make a closer crop - it was in fact the smallest of the four.
