Lasiorhynchites cavifrons

A nationally scarce species.

This was found on nettles beneath a Pedunculate Oak tree. The colour of this beetle has not come through well in the photos, especially those of the live beetle (assuming the specimen hasn't changed colour after death). The specimen looks blue-black, the blue being very obvious when well lit but it's a much purer shade of blue with only a hint of green.
