Colymbetes fuscus
Most of my recent records were identified using Duff's key and Mike Hackston's, or just Duff's, but the older ones were only using Mike Hackston's keys.
This came to light in a meadow and was 15.7mm long. The close-up shows the transvere pattern on the elytra that, together with the large size, eliminate the trickier genus Rhantus.
