Cartodere bifasciata
This came to light in my garden.
Cartodere bifasciata showing prosternal process and pronotum (2 focuses), North Elmham (Norfolk, UK), 18th June 2022
This one was caught in a vane trap. The membranous edge of the pronotum was mostly missing - just one of the foreangles remained in place.

This one was suctioned from my lawn. Duff describes this species (and Cartodere satelles) as having "Elytra without noticeable elevations in the posteror half." To my eyes at least one elytral interval is pretty obviously elevated so it would be easy to get confused here. Having said that Duff also describes Cartodere nodifer (the one that should have noticeable elevations) as being unicoloured which this very clearly isn't.

This was beaten from Ivy.

Although I suspected the ID of this one correctly, the pattern on the elytra was more subdued than on previous examples. Also when I examined the pronotum I thought the pair of keels were a little less prominent than I had remembered them to be on this species, so tried keying it as if the pronotum was "only with a trace of longitudinal keels" to see if that would lead anywhere. It led me to Latridius but there I hit a dead end as the pronotum shape was wrong for consimilis but I couldn't see any difference in the degree of punctures between the first and other sternites as in the other species. Taking the pronotum keels to be "well-marked" the key led me to Cartodere bifasciata as expected.
