Cantharis rufa

Although I have found this species during the day, most of my records have been to light.

The next two are somewhat confusing. Using Hackston's key, the first one keyed to the halophilic Cantharis rufa var. darwiniana, which seems a bit unlikely inland. Duff also refers to this seaweed variant but mentions that it has blackish legs, which this clearly did not have. The genitalia appear to match rufa, so my working assumption is that that's what it is, but the dark elytra (without dark legs) seems odd.

The following year's was very similar, although there was a little dark on the legs.
