Cantharis nigricans
A common species that seems to be relatively easy to identify, although going through my photos recently I discovered some old photos from when I first started looking at beetles which were incorrectly labelled as this species (they were in fact Cantharis pellucida and Cantharis rustica).
Considering the number of daytime observations, I've had very few to light which suggests this species might be more reluctant to come to light than some Cantharis species (or perhaps is just uncommon around my garden where I do most of my light-trapping).

The two photos on a white background are different individuals but I think one of them (I'm not sure which) is the same as the one on a leaf.
