Varied Carpet Beetle Anthrenus verbasci

I find lots of these in my house every year, though I do also sometimes find them outside. Presumably they're feeding on my carpets or something like that, though strangely quite a few appear in uncarpeted rooms like bathrooms. I sometimes find larvae crawling up the walls, though I have not identified these to species (I don't know how to tell them from Anthrenus fuscus which also occurs here, albeit in smaller numbers).
