Common Furniture Beetle Anobium punctatum

This species' larvae are commonly known as woodworm.

This was one of three beetles found in the bedroom of a cottage I stayed at one weekend - they were around the wooden beams which had clear evidence of woodworm activity. Nevertheless I checked the genitalia to make sure of the ID and this confirmed it was punctatum.

This was one was more innoculous, found on Nettles. The ID was confirmed by checking the genitalia.
