New Zealand Scaup Aythya novaeseelandiae

As its name suggests this species is endemic to New Zealand. As such it's not a species I've ever seen in the wild, nor do I expect to do so in the foreseeable future. It's not often seen in captivity, but I did get an opportunity to see this pair in a private collection.
