Canada Goose Branta canadensis

On this page I will deal mainly with the larger feral forms of Canada Goose which are variously reported as belonging to races canadensis or maxima or probably a mixture of these two and/or moffitti. I will deal with other races separately (currently only Todd's Canada Goose, race interior).

Birds with abnormal white on the face and around the eye, and often elsewhere on the head, are quite commonly encountered among feral Canada Geese. Such birds are often reported as hybrids, but they are in fact merely leucistic.
